The Verdict: Best Time to Post on Social Media Channels

Best times to post on social media

Deciding which management tools to use, agonizing over what to post on which channel, and developing great content are all great challenges of managing your online communities. As if those challenges aren’t hard enough, sometimes it’s also difficult to decide on the best time to post on social media channels.

Luckily, we’re not the only ones interested in perfecting the timing of our posts for optimal interaction. Here at SocialNicole we’re excited to be able to learn from other writers, marketers, and online community managers. In her article examining the best and worst times to post on social media, Kristin Piombino shared a Social Caffeine infographic outlining the best time to post on social media channels. She lays out the timing facts for the top social media channels from the infographic:

Facebook: Traffic is highest between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. ET.

Best time: Between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET, Worst time: 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. ET

Pinterest: Saturday morning is the best time to post.

Best time: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET or 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET, Worst time: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET

LinkedIn: Post before or after business hours.

Best time: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET or 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET, Worst time: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. ET It’s important to keep in mind that although this infographic is an awesome guide to timing your posts, the best time for your company to post will depend on your specific audience, what the product or service is that you’re selling, and what kinds of messages you’re posting. This is a really helpful general guide, but adjustments may need to be made based on the factors listed above. Thanks to Lori Taylor for laying out all of the details!
