Use Facebook as Your Business

To get started let’s take a look at the first step of Facebook marketing: how to use Facebook as your business. Ensuring you’re using your Facebook platform as your business rather than your own personal profile is essential – it will save you many headaches and mishaps later!

To use the page as your business instead of as yourself, do the following steps:

  1. Click on the arrow on the top right corner of the page.
  2. A drop down list will appear, and you should select your business’s account there. By selecting this account, you will be free to post on that page, like other posts, etc. as your business instead of as yourself.

Facebook As a Business

Why does using Facebook as your business page matter? If you want to grow an audience, it starts with building relationships. You cannot “like” or comment on regular users posts but you can “Like”, “Comment” and “Share” posts that are published by other pages. Find pages that are complimentary to your own business and who have audiences you would like to have join you on your page and start interacting with them. If you are strategic in this approach you will see relationships build with those pages and eventually they will help grow your page by their interaction with you. It’s true social media takes time and strategy to leverage for business. But following some simple tips can help you on your way.
