A Brand Voice for Business: Carrying it All the Way Through

brand voice for business For a lot of businesses, branding can be a tough concept to tackle. If you’re completely new to branding, attempting to make your brand voice for business shine through all of your diverse marketing materials can seem overwhelming. As you produce different materials, it’s important to carry your brand through each and every graphic, title, Facebook post, etc. Let’s take a look at a few tips to make sure you’re carrying your brand voice for business through materials as well as you can!

Be Consistent

In order to build a powerful brand throughout all of your materials, you’re going to have to be consistent. If your brand is going to have any power, it must come with a message and a “feel” that is always the same. Customers like when they know what to expect from your business. No matter what you’re producing, whether it be printed brochures, online newsletters, blog posts, etc., your brand should be saying the same thing. You have to be willing to put the brand before your personal preferences – if you like an image or slogan but it doesn’t fit your brand, throw it out.

Be Bold

While it’s important to be consistent in your branding voice, it’s also crucial to try new things. Take risks throughout your materials – this will give you the opportunity to build a solid and diverse foundation of things you can use in multiple ways. When you’re producing many different materials, you’ll be forced to experiment to see what works well for which medium. If your business has done a good job establishing a strong voice, you’ll be well-informed about how to make new and interesting decisions that still fit within your voice.

Be Creative

If you’re producing a lot of different materials, harping on the same couple of ideas within your brand can get boring quickly. So don’t be afraid to get creative! Think outside the box. Don’t be afraid to be unique. Find ways to integrate your brand into everything – even how you write the text of a post. For example, if your brand includes a focus on athletics, pay attention to your word choice. Maybe replace words like “contest” and “winner” with even stronger descriptors like “competition” and “champion.”

Be Patient

Even when your business seems to be doing everything right, sometimes you’ll run into problems. Maybe you pick a less than exciting newsletter image or slap on a brochure graphic that just doesn’t fit. That’s okay. It happens. What really matters is that you hop right back up and are even more intentional when planning your next group of materials. Branding requires that you be very intentional and strategic when making decisions. Though it may seem like a bit more work, the benefits to your company will be worth it.
